Distribution of Humanitarian Aid and other Services to the Poor

Thanks to the generous donations of food, clothing, shoes, toys, hygienic supplies, and a wide variety of other gifts-in-kind, Healing Hearts Balkans volunteers are able to regularly distribute humanitarian aid to those in need. We visit poverty-stricken areas, flood-affected areas, and Roma communities in our city, but the most gratifying times of giving are when we are able to help poor individuals or individual families who are suffering. Serbia has an extremely high unemployment rate, and along with the rest of the world is suffering from the economic downturn of the past 4 years. In Kosovo, the minority Serb population (5%) live for the most part in isolated village enclaves where unemployment can be near 100%. When in Kosovo, we are able to help several individual families with huanitarian aid that has been donated by our friends and donors in Finland and several other European countries.
